Man ejected in deadly car crash; name released

UPDATE 5/7/21 @ 10:26 a.m.

LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - The name of the person killed in a car crash has been released.

West Virginia State Police say Thomas Talbert, 47, of Alum Creek, was killed.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday along Route 3 near the county fairgrounds just outside of Hamlin.

State police say he crossed the center line.

The Hamlin Police Chief tells WSAZ the vehicle hit a guardrail and rolled at least three times. Talbert was ejected from the car.

Police say he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

Troopers say alcohol was a possible contributing factor.

LINCOLN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A car crash in the middle of the night has killed one person in Lincoln County, West Virginia.

State police tell WSAZ that the car crashed around 2:30 in the morning along Route 3 near the county fairgrounds.

One person died, however, investigators have not been able to release the name of that person yet.
