Police searching for suspects wanted in connection with armed robbery

NITRO, W.Va. (WSAZ) -Nitro Police Department officers are investigating an armed robbery that happened Saturday evening in Nitro.

Officers said it happened just before midnight at the Par Mar store on Fourth Street.

Officers said one of the three suspects had a pistol.

The three suspects appeared to have taken items from the store and placed them into backpacks before exiting through the rear door, according to officers.

A clerk was inside the store at the time of the robbery but was able to escape.

“He was I guess in the back part of the store, working on some paperwork wherever they came in, and saw him on camera and was able to get out of the side door.”

Store staff reported once the suspects stole mostly cigarettes, blunt wraps, and vapes after realizing they couldn’t access the cash register.

No injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation by the Nitro Police.
