SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ)- A suspect accused of shooting at another woman inside a grocery store has been identified.

South Charleston Police identified the shooting suspect as Lydia Spencer.

It happened just after 11 a.m. at a grocery store at Riverwalk Mall.

According to witnesses, three females were in a physical fight, then the females were separated, and Spencer pulled out a handgun.

Spencer then shot the victim in the back.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Investigators say Spencer knew the victim before the incident at the grocery store.

Spencer faces an attempted murder charge for allegedly shooting the victim and wanton endangerment for allegedly firing the weapon in the proximity of other people.

A Kroger spokesperson told WSAZ the company had no comment as there’s an ongoing investigation.

Spencer is at the South Central Regional Jail.
