First Warning Forecast | Flood Threats Continue, But Shift To The Ohio Ahead

Ohio River Tributaries Currently Cresting But Help Is On The Way
Updated: 10 hours ago

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A lot of the smaller streams that rapidly rose yesterday are themselves coming down this morning, but the rivers they flow into are rising, many already beyond flood stage. Some of the more concerning rivers right now are the Levisa Fork and the Little Sandy rivers in Eastern Kentucky, but numerous other rivers are also causing flooding problems (like the Mud, Coal, and Elk rivers in West Virginia). As the skies clear this afternoon, look for a brisk wind to help drag the temperatures down. We’ll be stuck in the 40s this afternoon, dropping to the 30s and even the 20s tonight.
